Hamlet And His Life - Free Essay Example
Hamlet is a man with a lot of goals to meet, but he overthinks everything too much. Every chance he gets to pursue his goal, he overthinks it causing him to not be able to act accordingly. Hamlet contemplates killing himself but finds himself unable to. Hamlet proves his inability to act when he procrastinate on killing Claudius over and over again. He did not kill him while Claudius was praying. He finds it hard to act on killing his mother even though he is sure that she broke her marriage vows.. In act 1 scene 2, Hamlets contemplates suicide but talks himself out of it, Oh, that this too, too sullied flesh would melt Or that the Everlasting had not fixd His canon gainst self-slaughter! O God! God! How weary, stale, flat and unprofitable, Seem to me all the uses of this world!. In this quote Hamlet starts off by saying he wishes his skin would melt basically saying he wants to die because life seems to tired, stale, and pointless, but God has forbidden suicide. In the To be or not to be speech in Act 3 scene 1, Hamlet talks about commiting suicide but he is too scared to find out what lies beyond death. He believes that death is just a sleep. A sleep where you dream, but that is the problem. He is scared of what dreams will come. Hamlet refuses to believe that his mother broke her wedding vows making it harder for him to kill her. When he enters her room in act 3 scene 4, he has full intent to kill her, but he never does. He just keeps asking her questions. She confesses and pleas to Hamlet that she has sins in her sole that are black and thick and will never wash away, yet Hamlet still refuses to kill her proving that he is unable to act when the time is right. Hamlet wants to kill Claudius because the ghost of King Hamlet told Hamlet that Claudius killed him. The ghost of King Hamlet wants Hamlet to avenge his death. In act 1 scene 5 he says Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift As meditation or the thoughts of love. May sweep to my revenge. Hamlet believes the ghost wants to hurry and kill Claudius. He begins procrastinating on this thought when he says The time is out of joint. He doubts that the ghost is real so he starts procrastinating creating The Mousetrap which is a play reenactment of the death of Hamlets father. Instead of just killing Claudius, Hamlet sits through the play until there is hard evidence of Claudius acting strange out of guilt. Even though Hamlet now knows Claudius is guilty, he is given the perfect shot to kill Claudius while he is praying, but he blows it because he believes that if he kills Claudius while he is praying then Claudius will be sent to heaven and Hamlet doesnt want that to happen. In the end Hamlet finally gets everything he wants done, but in sacrifice of his own life. If Hamlet had began to work toward what he wanted without overthinking it and procrastinating then it mightve gotten done and he could have lived. Instead Hamlet killed Claudius, his mother, and he dies like he always talked about. Cited page https://prezi.com/zzpp7wt3qoda/hamlet-tragic-flaw/ https://shakespeare.mit.edu/hamlet/full.html

Public Health and Communicable Disease Control-myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about thePublic Health and Communicable Disease Control. Answer: Public health surveillance is the systematic and continuous process of collecting, analysing and interpreting health-related data from the population since such data is needed to plan and implement public health practices. Surveillance might be active or passive and depends on the manner in which data collection is done. Passive surveillance gathers data from reporting health care workers wherein criteria are preestablished. In case of active surveillance, criteria are also established, but the researchers responsible for maintaining the surveillance system is to do the reporting (Baum 2016). Passive surveillance is the most common form of the surveillance system. However, such a survellieence has certain flaws since it is not complete and the vulnerability to such incompleteness is noteworthy. The reason is that health workers are not optimally motivated to report maximal data. In contrast, active surveillance is substantially more time-consuming. Nevertheless, it is more complete when compared to passive surveillance (Brownson et al. 2017). Sarti et al. (2016) point out that it is easier to conduct passive surveillance and there is less burden on the reporter once there is the establishment of the procedure. On the other hand, active surveillance has a major disadvantage of using a wide range of resources. This makes it limited to a certain time frame. In addition, passive surveillance systems have the limitation that physicians do not report cases certain diseases and are conscious of breaching patient confidentiality. Reports timelessness if also affected by the delay faced in getting results of laboratory tests. Further, bringing developments in an active surveillance system is challenging, and negligible new forms of the system have emerged. References Baum, F., 2016.The new public health(No. Ed. 4). Since the global economic environment is unpredictable, such events like Asian Financial crisis that affected most Asian countries somehow will decrease the consumerââ¬â¢s expectations and favours in spending. The economic growth in Philippines has been on a rising path since 2001: GDP growth increased to 6. 1 percent in 2004 and GNP growth also reached 6. 1% in 2004. On the demand side, personal consumption continued to grow at a robust 5. 8% pace aided by double-digit growth of remittances. Thus, people tend to spend more on consumption goods because there is a rise in their income. 3. 1. 2 Social and Cultural Factors The Philippinesââ¬â¢ culture is a mixture of Western and Eastern influences as the foundation of the culture is based primarily on the Pre-Hispanic, native cultures of the various Austronesian-speaking ethnic groups, mixed with many foreign influences from Spanish, Mexican, Chinese, Islamic, Hinduism and Anglo-Saxon. There are more than 170 languages spoken in the Philippines and most of them belong to the Western Malayo-Polynesian language group of the Austronesian language family. Most of the Filipinos are Christians (95%), with 83% of it belongs to the Roman Catholic Church and other 12% belongs to various Protestant denominations. As the Philippines are improving in different types of industry, a change in trend and favours will take place. So, to keep in track with the changes in trend, a company should never neglect consumerââ¬â¢s new expectations on inferior goods and services. 3. 1. 3 Technological Factors Besides these factors, technological influence plays an important part in the external environment factors. This is because new technology has invented new and superior goods in order to favour consumerââ¬â¢s taste and expectation in the new era of technology. They assumed new innovations positioned on existing products. Therefore, there will be more choices for them to consume and purchase. 3. 1. 4 Infrastructure The gateways to enter to Philippines are through the sea which is in Port of Manila and the Eva Macapagal Port Terminal, both located in Manila. Other cities with ports and piers include Batangas City, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City and more. Moreover, there are Philippines Airlines, Air Philippines, Cebu Spirit, Asian Spirit and South East Asian Pacific (SEAIR) that plays a role in the airlines in Philippines. These infrastructures allow the businesses to go smoothly and avoid any possible difficulties while traveling and transporting goods especially export and import activities (Internet 3). 3. 1. 5 Telecommunications The telecommunications systems in the Philippines are well maintained as their telephones have 7. 3 million (1997) main lines are in use and 28 million mobile cellular are in use during year 2004.

Japanese Colonialism In Korea Essays - Free Essays, Term Papers
Japanese Colonialism In Korea Essays - Free Essays, Term Papers Japanese Colonialism in Korea North and South Korea are nations that while filled with contempt for Japan have used the foundations that Japan laid during the colonial period to further industrialization. Japan's colonization of Korea is critical in underezding what enabled Korea to industrialize in the period since 1961. Japan's program of colonial industrialization is unique in the world. Japan was the only colonizer to locate various heavy industry is in its colonies. By 1945 the industrial plants in Korea accounted for about a quarter of Japan's industrial base. Japan's colonization of Korea was therefore much more comparable to the relationship between England and Ireland then that of European colonization of Asia or Africa. Japan's push to create colonial industry lead Japan to build a vast network of railroads, ports, and a system of hydro-electric dams and heavy industrial plants around the Yalu River in what is now North Korea. The Japanese to facilitate and manage the industrialization of a colony also put in place a strong central government. Although Japan's colonial industrialism in Korea was aimed at advancing Japanese policies and goals and not those of the Korean populace; colonization left Korea with distinct advantages over other developing countries at the end of World War Two. Korea was left with a base for industrializing, a high level of literacy, experience with modern commerce, and close ties to Japan. Japan's colonial heavy industrial plants were located primarily around the Yalu River in North Korea. Because of this the North had an edge in industrialization. For many years the North had the fastest growth rates of the communist countries, and its cities were on par with those of Eastern Europe. It was not until the early 1970's that the South surpassed the North in levels of industrialization. Because most of the heavy industrial plants were either located in North Korea or destroyed by the Korean War the groundwork for industrialization that South Korea received from Japanese colonialism consisted mostly of social changes. During colonialism Korea's populace in increasing numbers moved to cities and became urbanized these new urbanites worked in factories and were used to the organization of modern commerce. The Japanese also let a small number of Koreans develop into a semi-elite. Although this group never held powerful positions many of them were educated in Japanese schools, and became either involved in the military or worked as businessmen, bureaucrats, lawyers, and doctors. This elite provided much of the leadership and framework for post World War Two Korean Government in Korea. They had an intimate knowledge of Japanese companies, language, organizational structure, and government. The Korean elites that emerged after the liberation of 1945 and helped steer Korea's economic policies under Park Chung Hee had an intimate knowledge of Japan. Some of them like Park had been educated in Japanese schools, some had worked for the Japanese, and nearly all of them spoke fluent Japanese. It was this closeness to Japan both geographically and culturally that made it natural for the Koreans to use the Japanese model of industrialization when Japan's economy boomed in the 1960's and 1970's. The leaders of Korea were ambivalent about relying on Japan, on one hand they felt a profound respect for Japan and its successes and on the other a deep hatred for what Japan had done to Korea in the past. But Japan still served as a model for Park Chung Hee who normalized relations with Japan in 1965 and turned to Japan for technology, equipment, and a model for development. Some nationalistic Korean scholars say that Japan's colonialism slowed Korea's growth by exploiting Korea and disturbing its economy. But these views of Korea ignore the fundamental role that Japan's policies of industrial colonialism played in allowing Korea to Industrialize during the 1960's. Japan's colonialism improved infrastructure, urbanized the nation, educated much of the populace, gave the pubic experience with modern commerce, and indoctrinated Korean elites in the Japanese language and culture. It was Korean elites history and close ties with Japan that made them turn naturally to Japan to provide a development model. Japan's legacy of colonialism in Korea is felt not only in the many graves and monuments that attest to Japanese brutality but also
